Extruded Finned Tubes (Bimetallic Finned Tubes)
Extruded finned tubes, also known as bimetallic finned tubes, are one of the most popular finning processes for various applications.
The fins are manufactured by extruding the fins over an aluminum sleeve that has close tolerances to the base tube.
Extrusion is performed on a continuous fin extruder with three tool rolls at high pressures in the range of 1200 psi. Due to the cold working process, the bond between tube and fin is flawless, resulting in excellent heat transfer efficiency. At the same time, the mechanical strength of the fins is also greatly improved.
These finned tubes can be used in air finned coolers, dryers, radiators, etc. and are the first choice in industries such as food and agriculture, power plants, chemical industry, steel mills, and chillers.
Features of Extruded Finned Tubes (Bimetallic Finned Tubes):-
Manufacturing Process:- Cold Extrusion
Fin-Tube Bonding:- Excellent
Heat Transfer Efficiency: - Excellent
Mechanical Resistance:- Excellent (thus unlike other finned tubes it can be cleaned frequently with high pressure jets. Thus reducing downtime and increasing overall lifespan)
Corrosion Protection:- Provides excellent corrosion protection to the base pipe as it completely covers the base pipe (except the exposed ends).
Temperature range: - up to 300 degrees Celsius
