DIN 2609 Grade TStE 285 seamless pipes are produced from a medium-strength mild carbon steel. The steel features a low carbon content of approximately 0.16%, combined with controlled additions of silicon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, and small amounts of alloying elements such as molybdenum, nickel, and chromium. In addition, trace elements account for about 0.02% of the overall composition.

This material composition allows DIN 2609 Grade TStE 285 pipes—both seamless and welded forms—to perform reliably under elevated temperatures and pressures. The carbon steel exhibits good toughness, which contributes to excellent resistance to wear and mechanical fatigue, making it suitable for demanding industrial and pressure-related applications.
