ASTM B75 specification specifies requirements for seamless round, rectangular, and square copper tubing suitable for general engineering applications.
Tubing should be manufactured using hot and cold working processes to produce a uniform and consistent forged structure in the finished product. Should be cold drawn to finished size and wall thickness.
The requirements and dimensions of pipes in the tempered condition shall comply with the specified requirements. Tensile and yield strength tests, Rockwell hardness tests, expansion tests, metallographic tests, hydrogen embrittlement, electromagnetic tests, hydrostatic pressure tests, air pressure tests, resistivity, and chemical composition should meet the specified requirements.
Pipe shall be produced using one of the C10100, C10200, C10300, C10800, C12000 and C12200 copper UNS numbers.
Copper UNS Number Copper Type
C10100 Oxygen-free Electronics
C10200 Oxygen-free and residue-free deoxidizer
C10300 Oxygen-free, ultra-low phosphorus
C10800 Oxygen-free, low phosphorus
C12000 phosphorus deoxidation, low residual phosphorus
C12200 phosphorus deoxidation, high residual phosphorus
