ASTM A795 fire sprinkler pipe is a carbon steel pipe specially used in fire sprinkler systems. The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) is an international standards organization that develops and publishes voluntary consensus technical standards for a variety of materials, products, systems, and services. ASTM A795 is the standard specification for black and hot-dip galvanized welded and seamless steel pipe in sizes NPS 1/2 to NPS 10 with wall thicknesses as shown in the table below. The standard covers materials, dimensional tolerances, test methods, marking requirements and minimum requirements for packaging and labeling of black and hot-dip galvanized steel pipes. ASTM A795 is an international standard covering two steel grades, Grade A and Grade B. Welds of Class B ERW pipe must be heat treated to a minimum of 1000°F (540°C) after welding so that no untempered martensite remains. This is to ensure the strength and durability of the pipe. Otherwise, the tube can be processed in such a way that no untempered martensite remains. ASTM A795 is an important standard for industries such as oil and gas that frequently use pipelines. This standard helps ensure the safety and quality of pipes used by these industries.
