ASTM A178 Carbon STEEL TUBE
The ASTM A178 standard refers to minimum wall thickness for resistance welded pipe. Materials are carbon steel and carbon manganese steel, ASTM A178 pipes are used for boiler tubes, boiler flues, superheater flues and safety ends. Steel grade A (mild carbon steel), C (medium carbon steel) or D (carbon manganese steel). The manufacturing process must include heat treatment, cooling and then welding. If requested by the customer, a crushing test can be performed.

ERW Pipe is also available in other steel grades: ASTM A53 Structural Pipe, API 5L Line Pipe, ASTM A252 Pilling Pipe.
