6063 Aluminum Alloy Mechanical Properties
6063 aluminum is a medium-strength heat-shock-hardened alloy in the AL-Mg-Si system. It has the advantages of excellent processing performance, good weldability, good extrudability, and good corrosion resistance, and is a typical alloy for extrusion processes. Applications that require higher strength generally use 6061 or 6082.

The mechanical properties of 6063 aluminum depend largely on the tempering or heat treatment of the material. The most common tempering conditions for this alloy are:
T5 state: cooled from high temperature and artificially aged.
T6 state: solution heat treated and artificially aged.
